Jonathan (Jonny) Lifshitz, PhD

Jonny is the Director of the Translational Neurotrauma Research Program at Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and an Associate Professor in the Department of Child Health at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix.  He is a neuroscientist with basic and clinical projects investigating acute neurological injuries, including traumatic brain injury and epilepsy.

Jonny received his neuroscience training at UCLA, UPenn, and Virginia Commonwealth University and holds faculty positions at University of Kentucky, University of Arizona, and Arizona State University.  His expertise in diffuse brain injury ranges from the cellular consequences of injury to the circuit repair, including the array of neuropsychological symptoms that emerge chronically.
