Ron has been an active research scientist and inventor in the field of otolaryngology, since 1971. He earned an M.S. from the Department of Physiology of the College of Medicine, University of Florida, in 1972. Ron initially trained in an academic research environment at the University of Florida, College of Medicine and at the University of California (Irvine) Department of Surgery, he has published numerous articles on vestibular and optokinetic research in international scientific and medical journals and has been the principal investigator on several funded research grants. He originally aspired to be a Mission Specialist for NASA, and was a recipient of a NASA BioSpace Technology Training Program Scholarship to learn space research techniques applicable to 0-gravity environments, which increased his skill-set for his future earth-based research.
Ron was Co-Founder & Chairman of the Board of Directors of Eye Dynamics, Inc. from 1991 to 2005. He thereafter served on the Board of Directors and assumed CEO responsibilities for its successor, AcuNetx, Inc., until 2008. Ron has consulted with several national and international entities related to his work with eye movements, vestibular physiology and other applications of his technology and knowhow. He is the co-inventor of numerous patents related to the infrared/video imaging of eye movements used in medical, law enforcement and worker impairment applications.
